Last night in Chicago, we took advantage of some local deep dish pizza and caught a show at the Buddy Guy's Legends. It was an abbreviated visit, but worth it.
Today was spent cruising through Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota. We're spending the night in Worthington at a Holiday Inn. Pickings were slim, as there is a snow storm in the area and the cars in the parking lot were covered in ice. It'll be an early night but hopefully we'll get an early start tomorrow morning.

Day 2
So this is an official first post of the family's cross country trip. Yesterday, the sadness was felt throughout the three of us as we watched the moving company packing and taking our prized possessions nearly 3,000 miles away. We didn't need to say it to each other, but we all were thinking the same thing: we'll miss living here.
We moved to that house when my brother and I were entering sixth grade, a brand new school with brand new kids to meet. The better part of our childhood was spent there up until our young adulthood. Now that I'm in my mid twenties, it shocks me how many memories were spent in the house: good, bad, and everything in between.
But now my eyes gaze forward knowing that the new part of my life will begin in a new world. A place where I can see a new life myself, an exciting adventure where I honestly don't know what I'm getting myself in to. That unknown is what makes this journey worth it.
After we left the house yesterday afternoon, we picked up my buddy Tim and began our trip. We travelled into Pennsylvania and took a break in a small town called Lewistown for a meal. After the downtime, we continued n the road for a few more hours and took our rest in Barking.
This morning, the planned course was to make it to Chicago for dinner and to find a small motel for the night. Currently, I'm traveling with Mom in my car down the Ohio Turnpike. With approximately 200 miles to go, I'm looking forward to the food that Chicago has to offer us. I hope NYC hasn't spoiled me and my family of foodies....
